A 40-year-old woman has appealed for urgent assistance after giving birth to quadruplets at Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, adding to her existing five young children.
Initially told she was expecting one child, subsequent scans revealed two, then four, leaving her overwhelmed and fearful for her family’s future.
The mother revealed the sudden arrival of quadruplets has strained her household. Her husband reportedly considered abandoning the family after the delivery, though community advice persuaded him to stay.
She described her financial situation as dire and admitted she cannot cope alone.
“I can’t do this alone. My life is not going well,” she lamented, calling on the Nigerian government and well-meaning citizens to step in.
Her story has generated sympathy online, with many urging charities, humanitarian organisations, and authorities to provide support for the family of nine children.
