Supporters of Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, took to the streets of Port Harcourt on Wednesday night, chanting songs aimed at the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
The crowd marched through major areas of the state capital, drawing attention from residents as they loudly sang in support of Fubara and mocked the former governor.
In a video that has since gone viral, the supporters could be heard chanting, “Na minister you be, you no be God,” repeatedly stressing that Wike no longer controls the affairs of Rivers State.
Another chant declared, “Na Fubara be governor,” as the crowd moved through the streets.
The protest appears to be a response to the ongoing political tension between Wike and his successor.
The once-close allies have remained locked in a power struggle that continues to divide political opinion across the state. The video has sparked widespread reactions online.
