Singer Niniola Apata has paid an emotional tribute to her late husband, Michael Ndika, describing him as the driving force behind her music career and the person who believed in her talent from the beginning.
Speaking in a video at a gathering held in his honour, Niniola reflected on their relationship and the impact Ndika had on both her professional and personal life following his death on May 19, 2026, at the age of 44.
Ndika, who was the Chief Executive Officer of African music platform NaijaReview, was remembered by the singer as her strongest supporter, particularly during moments when she considered taking a break from music.
According to Niniola, he encouraged her to continue and promised to make her a superstar, a pledge she said he fulfilled.
She described their marriage as a love story and said his absence has completely changed her life. Niniola also thanked his family for welcoming her and acknowledged the difficulty of coping with the loss.
