A yet-to-be-identified individual was electrocuted on Wednesday morning while attempting to steal shielded electrical lines from the Jigawa State Secretariat facility in Dutse.
Lawan Shiisu, the police spokesperson for Jigawa State, said the event happened at 10 a.m., when officers were informed and raced to the area. Shiisu added that when officers arrived, they discovered the man’s motionless corpse under a slab with armoured wires that were linked to a high-voltage power source.
“A team of policemen led by the divisional police officer of Dutse division responded to the call,” the statement read. “Upon arrival, the police officers discovered the lifeless body of an unidentified male adult under a slab that contained armoured cables.”
“As the investigation progresses, the command will provide additional updates,” Shiisu added.
