A young Nigerian mother has sparked conversations online after advising single women to secure financial stability before getting married.
Sharing her personal experience in a viral video, she explained that relying completely on a spouse for money can create problems during marital disagreements.
According to her, even a supportive partner may eventually use financial dependence as a weapon during conflicts.
She said if she had the chance to start over, she would prioritise building her finances before entering marriage.
The woman also revealed that being the first daughter in her family comes with many responsibilities, but her current financial struggles have made it difficult to support her mother and siblings.
Due to this, she sometimes avoids speaking with them out of fear they might ask for financial help she cannot provide.
She encouraged young women to discover their purpose, build careers, and become financially independent before settling down or starting families.
