Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has revealed the personal sacrifices she made while working on her latest film, Behind The Scenes, which has grossed ₦2.7 billion.
Speaking with BellaNaija, the award-winning filmmaker said she devoted herself entirely to the project, putting work above her personal life to achieve the record-breaking success.
Akindele disclosed that she stopped attending parties, neglected her appearance except for important events, avoided social visits, endured sleepless nights and even forgot to eat as she focused on the production.
She said the demanding schedule required complete dedication but noted that she is now enjoying the rewards of her efforts.
The actress also dismissed suggestions that dancing alone promoted the film, stressing that audiences should not reduce her hard work to that alone.
Akindele said years of discipline, consistency and sacrifice have helped build her brand, adding that the pressures of the industry ultimately strengthened her resilience and professionalism.
