Nollywood actor Ray Emodi has announced his decision to step away from acting, revealing that traumatic experiences on movie sets and family concerns influenced the move.

In an emotional video shared on Instagram, Emodi disclosed that some film productions exposed him to serious danger.

He recalled shooting in a violence-prone location where gunshots were heard nearby while filming continued.

According to him, the experience left a lasting psychological impact and forced him to reassess his priorities.

Emodi also cited pressure from his family, noting that they were uncomfortable with the risks associated with his acting career.

He said he respected their concerns and chose not to pursue any path that could damage the family’s reputation.

Despite quitting acting, Emodi expressed gratitude for his time in Nollywood, describing it as a chapter filled with lessons, memories and growth, even amid the challenges.
