Fast-rising Afrobeats singer Fido has publicly apologised, admitting that ego, excitement, and inexperience influenced decisions he now regrets.
The artiste shared a lengthy statement on his official X account on Tuesday, reflecting on his rapid rise to fame and the personal challenges it brought.
“There’s no easy way to write this, so I’ll just say it plainly. I messed up. I allowed ego, excitement and inexperience to influence some of my decisions. That’s not who I want to be, and it’s not who I’m becoming,” Fido said.
He explained that while his career was progressing publicly, his personal growth lagged behind, resulting in moments of poor judgement.
Fido extended an unreserved apology to fans, industry colleagues, and Afrobeats veterans who may have felt disrespected.
He emphasised reflection, growth, and maturity, promising that his future music will reflect gratitude and self-awareness.
