Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, the former Chief Security Officer to late Head of State General Sani Abacha, has dismissed claims made by former Department of State Services (DSS) operative Mr. Amachree about Abacha’s death, describing them as false and misleading.
Speaking with journalists in Kaduna, Al-Mustapha alleged that the former DSS officer was influenced by others to include the claims in a book, insisting that the account did not reflect what truly happened.
“The boy was asked to write the lies by others. I have all the CCTV footages of what happened in my custody, so what he said are not true,” he said. Al-Mustapha maintained that he possessed evidence capable of contradicting the assertions made about the late military ruler’s death.
He urged members of the public to disregard the claims, arguing that it was wrong to make what he described as false statements against someone who was no longer alive to defend himself. “Just ignore his lies. It’s bad to say such things on someone that is dead,” he added.
