Nigerian businessman Chidi Mike has opened up on why he publicly disagreed with the political stance of nightlife entrepreneur Obi Cubana and celebrity barman Cubana Chief Priest.
Speaking during an interview with BBC Igbo, Chidi Mike described both men as brothers and close associates despite their differing political views.
He said he could not support the “City Boy movement” because of the economic hardship currently affecting many Nigerians.
According to him, citizens deserve leaders who understand the struggles of ordinary people rather than political campaigns disconnected from reality.
Chidi Mike also urged Nigerians to stop being divided by political sentiments and called for greater unity among Igbo political stakeholders.
He further dismissed criticisms surrounding Labour Party figure Peter Obi, insisting that political attacks against him were unfair and misleading.
Chidi Mike added that collaboration between Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso under the NDC remains Nigeria’s best hope for political and economic recovery.
