A fresh wave of defections have rocked the House of Representatives, with no fewer than 17 lawmakers abandoning the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC).

The defections were formally announced during plenary on Tuesday, underscoring growing shifts within the lower chamber and raising questions about the ADC’s shrinking influence in the House.

Those who moved to the NDC include Yusuf Datti, Uchenna Okonkwo, Adamu Wakili, Thaddeus Attah, George Ozodinobi, Lilian Orogbu, Oluwaseyi Sowunmi, Peter Aniekwe, Mukhtar Zakari, George Oluwande, Munachim Umezuruike, Emeka Idu, Jesse Onuakalusi, Ifeanyi Uzokwe, Afam Ogene and Abdulhakeem Ado.
