Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike has dismissed reports of his expulsion from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), insisting the announcement has no legitimacy.
Earlier at the PDP’s national convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, party leaders declared that Wike, former National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu, and former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose had been removed from the party.
The motion for their expulsion was proposed by former PDP National Vice Chairman (South), Chief Olabode George, and seconded by Bauchi State PDP Chairman, Hon. Samaila Burga.
Reacting to the development, Wike’s Senior Special Assistant on Publicity and Communications, Lere Olayinka, dismissed the pronouncement as baseless.

He described those behind the announcement as being “intoxicated” by what he called their “dirty December,” insisting the decision carried no weight or authority.
He said, “They went to Ibadan to start dirty December in November.
“When people decide to start their own dirty December in November, one can’t but ignore whatever comes out of their mouths.
“They gathered in Ibadan to do party, enjoy themselves and intoxicated, they are free to say anything.”
