Fresh controversy has trailed Afrofusion superstar Burna Boy after his associate, Rahman Jago, publicly declared that the Grammy-winning artiste has embraced Islam.
The conversation gained momentum after a video surfaced online showing Burna Boy praising Allah, triggering mixed reactions across social media.
Among those who weighed in was Bashir Ahmad, a former aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari. Commenting on the viral clip, Ahmad described the singer as “so happy” and offered prayers for him, saying, “May Allah (SWT) make it so easy for him.”
When asked by a fan to confirm whether Burna Boy had indeed converted, Ahmad responded that some of the artiste’s associates claimed he had, but noted that Burna Boy himself had not made an official statement at the time.
“He Converted. He Is Now a Muslim.”
Rahman Jago, however, spoke in more definitive terms. Addressing the speculation, he wrote: “He converted. He is now a Muslim.”
His assertion further intensified the debate, with fans divided over the authenticity and timing of the reported conversion.
Burna Boy, who was raised in a Christian background, had previously hinted at a spiritual shift. In a recent podcast appearance, he disclosed that he embraced Islam “at some point” in his search for truth.
He also confirmed his conversion during a livestream conversation with Plaueboymax, where he discussed his views on creation.
