A Nigerian man whose childhood crying photo became one of the internet’s most popular memes has finally spoken about what really happened that day.
The image, which resurfaced widely in 2023, shows a young boy in traditional attire crying uncontrollably while a photographer calmly took pictures.
Now identified as @niff-wizzy on TikTok, the man revealed that the moment had nothing to do with sadness or trauma.
According to him, he was simply upset because he did not want to take the photograph and someone had seized his toy at the time.
He added that the viral image was taken during his childhood and clarified that he is now a graduate of University of Ibadan.
