Nigerian social media activist VeryDarkMan has stated that he is willing to withdraw a case against entrepreneur Blord if a specific political condition is met.
During a livestream, VeryDarkMan said he would drop the matter if Blord publicly declares support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The dispute stems from allegations that led to Blord’s arrest and remand over claims of impersonation, forgery and unauthorised use of VeryDarkMan’s identity in promotional materials.
The activist maintained that he would immediately discontinue legal action if the condition is fulfilled publicly.
The statement, made during a session with human rights advocate Deji Adeyanju, has triggered renewed debate online about the intersection of activism, personal disputes and political expression.
Meanwhile, some commentators, including activist Omoyele Sowore, have criticised the continued detention, arguing that the justice system should not be used as a tool for oppression and calling for restraint from all parties involved.
