The Taraba State Police Command has confirmed a deadly security incident in Tse Kwe Village, following an attack by suspected armed bandits.
The incident occurred after a distress report was received from a resident of Tordamisa Akate Ward, Zaki Orbanga, alerting authorities that the village was under attack.
According to the police, a rapid response team led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Donga, alongside operatives of the Special Force, was immediately dispatched to the area to restore order and protect residents.
On reaching the village, the team came under gunfire from the suspected bandits, leading to a fierce exchange of bullets.

Tragically, two police officers, CPL Raphael Danjuma and PC Ebenezer Daniel, were killed in the line of duty. Another officer, PC Samuel Bawa, was initially reported missing, but his body was later recovered from a nearby bush.
In addition, Nutsa Tyav, the 60-year-old chairman of the Tordamisa Village Vigilante Group, also lost his life during the attack.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Taraba Ag. Police Public Relations Officer, Victor Mshelizah, on Thursday, March 19.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Betty Enekpen Isokpan Otimenyin, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of the brave officers and vigilante member. “The Command extends its heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and assures them that their sacrifice will not be forgotten,” she said.
Police confirmed that security operations in the area have been intensified as efforts continue to track down and apprehend the perpetrators.
Residents are being urged to remain calm and to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and credible information that could assist in bringing the attackers to justice.
