Nigerian rapper Falz has advised singles not to rush into marriage before the age of 30, arguing that people are more emotionally, mentally and financially mature in their 30s. Speaking on an episode of The BTS Reality podcast, the 35-year-old artiste said societal expectations and peer pressure should not determine when people choose to settle down.
According to him, a person’s 20s should be dedicated to self-discovery, learning, personal growth and enjoying life rather than feeling pressured to get married. Falz explained that individuals gain valuable life experiences as they grow older, making them better equipped to make long-term marital decisions in their 30s.
He maintained that by that stage, people are able to combine the lessons learnt during their younger years and give clearer direction to their lives. The rapper concluded that waiting until one’s 30s before marriage offers a stronger foundation for making such a significant lifelong commitment.
