Veteran Nigerian Juju and Highlife musician Iyun Janet Oluwatoyosi Ajilore, popularly known as Saint Janet, has died after a brief illness, bringing an end to a celebrated career defined by energetic performances and a distinctive connection with live audiences.
The entertainer reportedly passed away on Saturday, while news of her death was announced on Sunday by publisher and socialite Otunba Femi Davies through a Facebook post confirming the development.
Saint Janet built a reputation for her vibrant stage presence, socially unfiltered party tracks and engaging performances that blended music, wit and social commentary.
Her contributions to the Juju and Highlife genres earned her recognition as one of the notable figures in Nigeria’s live music scene, helping to distinguish her from many of her contemporaries.
