Founder of Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, has criticised reported restrictions on preaching in public buses, describing the move as an attack on Christianity and insisting Christians should not be prevented from sharing the gospel.
Speaking during a church service, the cleric argued that the government should prioritise tackling insecurity, poverty and other national challenges instead of limiting public preaching.
He maintained that if other religious groups are permitted to use loudspeakers in public, Christians should equally be free to preach anywhere.
Ibiyeomie also accused some church leaders of remaining silent because of their relationship with political leaders, stressing that he had never received money from the president and therefore had no reason to withhold his views.
He further lamented worsening hardship in the country, comparing the current situation with past administrations, and warned that policies restricting gospel preaching could create tension while insisting Christians have the constitutional right to preach freely.
