A teacher has ignited online debate after going live on TikTok during a class and demanding virtual gifts before releasing a punished student.
In a viral clip shared by @AsakyGRN, the male teacher was seen livestreaming in a secondary school classroom as a student knelt in punishment.
Instead of resolving the matter privately, he told his TikTok audience, “That’s your brother kneeling on the ground, and he go dey there. But if you can send 10 roses, I will let him go and sit.”
Shockingly, viewers quickly sent the virtual gifts, prompting him to release the student.
The incident has drawn criticism, with many questioning the ethics of blending classroom discipline with social media monetisation.
Comments included, “This one na content creator first, teacher later,” and, “Education don turn livestream?”
The episode has sparked broader conversations about professional boundaries and the influence of social media on teaching.
