A Nigerian lady has triggered heated reactions online after publicly criticising a man who sent her ₦100,000 in an attempt to impress her, but followed it up with a transaction receipt.
According to her, the suitor had earlier promised to impress her and requested her bank details.
Shortly after she shared her account number, the money was transferred.
However, the lady said she felt insulted when the man forwarded the payment receipt, insisting that it defeated the purpose of the gesture.
In a viral clip, she questioned why proof was necessary if the transfer was truly meant to impress her.
She sarcastically suggested that he should have included his family members’ numbers so she could praise them for raising such a “fine son.”
Her reaction divided social media users, with some accusing her of entitlement, while others argued that sending a receipt cheapens a supposed romantic gesture meant to be effortless.
