Popular gospel singer Chinyere Udoma has addressed public scrutiny over her decades-long relationship with controversial cleric Chukwuemeka Odumeje, urging critics to stop passing judgment.
n a recent statement, Udoma explained that their friendship spans more than 30 years, dating back to a time when she was unknown in the music industry.
She credited Odumeje with supporting and guiding her during those formative years, describing him as a father figure.
“When I was still a kid, nobody knew me… but he took me in like a father. Some people see me and Odumeje and start judging — who made you a judge?” she said.
Udoma emphasised that their bond is rooted in spiritual alignment and friendship, noting that God has blessed her through the cleric’s ministry. She called on the public to respect matters of faith they may not fully understand.
