“When I Spoke, I Was Crucified” — Tiwa Savage Explains Silence On Insecurity

Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has explained why she does not frequently comment publicly on Nigeria’s worsening insecurity, saying previous attempts to speak out attracted intense criticism despite her continued involvement in addressing national concerns.

The singer made the clarification after a social media follower urged her to use her influence to draw greater attention to insecurity and other challenges facing the country.

Responding on Instagram, Savage said public posts do not reflect the full extent of her efforts and insisted that she remains active behind the scenes.

She stressed that she does not feel compelled to publicise every action she takes, adding that her contributions are known to God even if they are not visible to the public.

The mother of one noted that criticism would not discourage her from remaining engaged on issues affecting Nigerians.

She also expressed hope that the country would be guided with wisdom and strength to overcome the ongoing security challenges confronting its citizens.
