President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared that Nigeria will not be allowed to slide backwards under politicians without what he described as a clear alternative vision.
Speaking after receiving the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress for the 2027 election, Tinubu defended his administration’s economic and infrastructural reforms while seeking continued public support.
The President said his government had made significant progress through fuel subsidy removal, tax reforms, education loans and investments in power, roads and digital infrastructure.
He noted that over 1.5 million students had benefited from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, while electricity generation had improved under ongoing reforms.
Tinubu also acknowledged the economic hardship facing many Nigerians but insisted his administration remained focused on restoring stability and growth.
He further called for constitutional amendments to allow state police, stressing that security and national unity remain priorities ahead of the 2027 general election.
