An Enugu family has been thrown into celebration after a woman delivered quadruplets—four healthy baby boys—in a private hospital in Port Harcourt on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
The birth came as a shock to relatives, as repeated antenatal scans throughout the pregnancy reportedly indicated only twins.
The unexpected arrival of the additional two babies has left the family both overwhelmed and grateful.
According to the newborns’ uncle, the family rushed from Enugu to Port Harcourt when labour began after receiving an emergency call.
He described an emotional scene at the hospital, saying the father was visibly distressed and nearly fainted before the successful Caesarean section.
He added that the family was astonished when doctors confirmed four babies instead of two.
Medical personnel confirmed that the delivery was successful, and both the mother and all four newborns are in stable condition.
The rare occurrence has since sparked emotional reactions and celebrations within the extended family.
