Senate President Godswill Akpabio has defended the administration of President Bola Tinubu amid growing public concerns over economic hardship, insisting that the government never promised Nigerians instant miracles but rather long-term and deliberate progress.
Akpabio made the remarks on Friday during the inauguration of a newly completed seven-kilometre road and bridge project in the Federal Capital Territory, where he highlighted the objectives of the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
His comments come as many Nigerians continue to grapple with the rising cost of living following the removal of fuel subsidy and other economic reforms introduced by the government.
According to the Senate President, the administration remains committed to implementing policies designed to bring sustainable development and improve the lives of citizens over time.
He stated that the government promised structural and calculated progress that would address the realities of daily struggles faced by Nigerians, stressing that meaningful national transformation requires patience and a long-term commitment to reform.
