United States President Donald Trump has described Iran’s military as formidable while maintaining that the latest deadline for a truce with Tehran remains non-negotiable.
Speaking on Monday during the White House Easter Egg Roll alongside First Lady Melania Trump, Trump said Iran’s fighting capability should not be underestimated, even as tensions continue to rise between the United States, Israel, and Iran.
“Iranians are capable fighters, they are very tough people,” he stated.
The president, however, suggested that Iran’s strength has diminished compared to recent weeks.
“The enemy is strong, not so strong like they were about a month ago,” he said.
Trump reiterated that Tuesday’s deadline for a truce is final, despite having previously extended it multiple times in recent weeks.
