A Nigerian community is reeling after the sudden deaths of a brilliant first-class graduate and his parents, who were buried on the same day.
The young man had secured admission for a master’s programme in the United States through his uncle and was preparing to complete his service year.
Tragically, he died instantly in a fatal accident while travelling to Abuja for documentation.Eyewitnesses described the devastating aftermath.
“He was our coursemate and one of the brightest. It was shocking,” one said. Upon hearing of his son’s death, his father reportedly slumped and died instantly.
Weeks later, the mother reportedly took her own life by ingesting poison. The three were eventually laid to rest together, leaving the community mourning.
Residents have called for increased awareness of mental health and support for families dealing with sudden losses.
