Nigerian content creator Jubril Oladapo, popularly known as Officer Woos, has denied claims that he announced the death of fellow skit maker Broda Shaggi, describing the reports as false, malicious and defamatory.
The controversy began after an X user alleged that Officer Woos had announced Broda Shaggi’s passing on Instagram, sharing the comedian’s photograph alongside a message claiming he had died.
Reacting to the viral post, Officer Woos reposted a screenshot of the claim on his Instagram Story and simply wrote, “False.”
In a statement issued on Saturday through his legal representatives, Versed Attorneys, the comedian said he had never announced the death of any colleague, friend or associate on any of his platforms.
The legal team also dismissed separate allegations that he had been arrested for drug trafficking, insisting the claims were entirely fabricated.
Citing Nigerian laws on defamation and cybercrime, the lawyers demanded an immediate retraction and public apology within 48 hours from those responsible for circulating the reports.
The latest rumour surfaced months after Broda Shaggi was falsely reported to have been shot while filming in Ogun State.
