Tension reportedly erupted at Auchi Polytechnic following an alleged case of examination malpractice that spiralled into violence on campus.
According to a video shared online, an ND1 female student allegedly raised an alarm during an examination after discovering that an HND2 student had brought “expo” materials into the hall.
Witnesses claimed the disclosure disrupted the exam and angered several students present.
Reports further alleged that shortly after the examination, the ND1 student was confronted and attacked by a group of students who blamed her for exposing the malpractice.
The incident, shared on X, has since triggered widespread reactions online.
Many Nigerians expressed concern over the normalisation of exam malpractice and the safety of students who speak up against wrongdoing.
Others argued that the incident reflects a deeper crisis within campus culture, where integrity is increasingly punished rather than protected.
