Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe has come under criticism on social media after videos surfaced showing her at the surprise baby shower of celebrity designer Luminee, who recently announced the birth of her son with controversial actor Baba Ijesha.
The event, reportedly organised by actress Eniola Ajao and Aigbe, drew mixed reactions online due to Baba Ijesha’s past conviction.
Several X users expressed disappointment over Aigbe’s presence, with some questioning her decision to celebrate the occasion given the actor’s history.
Others, however, defended the actress, arguing that she shares a close relationship with Luminee and may not have known details about the child’s paternity at the time.

Baba Ijesha was imprisoned in 2022 over the sexual assault of a minor and was released from custody in November 2025 after serving more than three years.
