Afrobeats star Burna Boy has reunited with Colombian pop icon Shakira during rehearsals ahead of Sunday’s FIFA World Cup final halftime show at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
The Nigerian singer shared a video on his X account showing the pair embracing and smiling as they prepared for the landmark performance.
Accompanying the clip, Burna Boy wrote, “Sunday Prep! @shakira See you at the @FIFAWorldCup Final! Dai dai, ikó, dale, allez, let’s go!”
FIFA previously announced that Burna Boy and Shakira will headline the tournament’s first-ever Super Bowl-style halftime show, where they are set to perform the official 2026 FIFA World Cup anthem, Dai Dai.
According to the football governing body, the halftime interval will be extended to about 30 minutes, featuring 15 minutes of analysis and an 11-minute musical performance.
Spain and Argentina will contest the World Cup final, while the event will also support global education initiatives for children.
