A man identified as Enoch Yohanna has sparked controversy after alleging that repentant Boko Haram members receive financial rewards and monthly salaries following rehabilitation programmes organised by the government.
Speaking during a public event, Yohanna claimed that former insurgents are categorised based on their level of involvement in terrorist activities before undergoing rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
According to him, some allegedly receive ₦3 million as payoff alongside monthly salaries after completing the process.
He further alleged that certain rehabilitated individuals are recruited into civilian security operations, while others are deployed for assignments in different locations under government supervision.
Yohanna expressed frustration over what he described as the use of taxpayers’ money to support individuals accused of violent crimes, insisting that victims and affected families continue to suffer emotional pain and hardship.
His comments have since generated widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians debating the country’s rehabilitation and reintegration policies.
