Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has urged young people with big dreams to remain committed to God after achieving success, warning that fame comes with distractions that can make people forget their faith.
Speaking in a recent interview with Kiss Xtra, the award-winning singer said aspiring talents should first believe in themselves and consistently improve their skills.
He recalled learning music through YouTube and from people around him while growing up, noting that his passion for the craft pushed him to keep getting better.
Davido said dedication and continuous learning played a major role in his journey to success.
He added that loving one’s craft should be accompanied by a strong relationship with God, especially after becoming successful.
“Secondly, love what you do and put God first and close, especially when you make it, because there are so many distractions that can make you forget he is the reason you are here,” he said.
