Reality star and BBNaija Season 7 winner, Phyna, has responded to criticism over her decision to undergo Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) and 360 liposuction months after the death of her sister, Ruth Otabor.Speaking during an Instagram livestream, she said her grief was private and should not be judged online.
She criticised commenters for being hypocritical, stressing that mourning does not require public display. “I don’t grieve my sister online,” she said, warning people against using her loss for debate.
Phyna also dismissed claims that she received N1 billion linked to the incident, calling them false and disgusting. Defending her surgery, she said online body shaming influenced her decision and added she is ready to embrace her new look. Ruth’s death in August 2025 followed a road accident involving a Dangote truck, which previously sparked public outcry.
