Presidential spokesman Sunday Dare has declared that the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, cannot defeat President Bola Tinubu in Lagos State during the 2027 presidential election, insisting that the current administration is not threatened by the opposition figure.
Speaking during an interview on the Mic On Podcast, Dare said the Tinubu-led government is focused on delivering its mandate and believes its performance has strengthened its political standing ahead of the next general election.
He maintained that while Obi may have posed a challenge in the past, the administration now stands on what he described as a solid record of achievements.
According to Dare, the government has carefully assessed Nigeria’s challenges and continues to roll out policies and programmes aimed at addressing them.
He added that the administration has a scorecard to justify its confidence as preparations for the 2027 elections gradually gather momentum across the country.
