PDP Suspends Anyanwu, Others, Over Alleged Anti-Party Activities

Ayo

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended four senior national officers over allegations of anti-party activities and violations of the party’s constitution.

Those affected are National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu; National Organising Secretary, Hon. Umar Bature; National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade; and Deputy National Legal Adviser, Okechukwu Osuoha.

Their suspension was ratified by the National Working Committee (NWC) during its meeting on Saturday at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

In a statement, National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, said the decision followed investigations which revealed that the officials had engaged in actions “inconsistent with the provisions of the PDP Constitution and detrimental to the interest of the party.”

The development comes just 24 hours after a Federal High Court in Abuja stopped the National Elective Convention scheduled for November 15, pending the resolution of a suit challenging the exercise.
