Veteran Nollywood actor Adebayo Salami, popularly known as Oga Bello, has reflected on the early days of his acting career, saying passion for theatre, rather than fame or financial reward, inspired him and his colleagues.
The respected actor shared a throwback photograph of himself alongside fellow veteran Baba Wande on Instagram while reminiscing about their humble beginnings in the theatre industry.
Salami recalled that their dedication was driven by genuine love for the craft, with little attention paid to recognition or material gains.
According to him, every achievement and success that followed their commitment was an unexpected blessing.
“When we started theatre, our minds and hearts were more about passion for the arts. Every other goodness that came from it was just a divine bonus for us,” he said.
His reflection highlights the values that shaped the careers of many veteran performers and celebrates the enduring legacy of Nigeria’s pioneering theatre practitioners.
