The Commissioner of Police in Ondo State, Adebowale Lawal, has ordered the immediate redeployment of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Enu-Owa Division following a viral video involving social media influencer Adefolarin Ayomiposi, popularly known as Mandykiss.

The video, which spread rapidly over the weekend, showed Mandykiss filming a mother and daughter she claimed to have arrested for cyberbullying.

In the footage, she verbally confronted the pair, stating that she had travelled to Ondo State to deal with them after allegedly being trolled online.

Additional clips showed the two women—identified as Mrs. Akinwole Sabitu and her daughter, Miss Akinwole Oyindamola—in police custody while Mandykiss took photographs of them, sparking outrage and questions about police professionalism and due process.

In a statement posted Tuesday on the command’s official X handle, the police clarified that preliminary findings revealed no officers were present during the alleged arrest.

Instead, Mandykiss reportedly located and apprehended the suspects with help from her online followers before transporting them to the police station and recording the process.

The police described her actions as improper, noting that filming or photographing suspects violates ethical and legal standards, including the presumption of innocence.

Commissioner Lawal said the incident exposed serious lapses in supervision at the divisional level, hence the decision to redeploy the DPO immediately.

He warned that the command would not tolerate any conduct that undermines public trust or tarnishes the image of the Nigeria Police Force.

He further directed all officers to uphold professionalism, impartiality, and respect for human rights in handling complaints, emphasising that both complainants and suspects must be treated within the bounds of the law.
