Nigerian Afrobeats star Adekunle Gold has described his wife, Simi, as the best songwriter in the Nigerian music industry.
Speaking during an interview with media personality Angela Yee, the singer praised Simi’s creativity and unique songwriting ability.
According to him, she possesses a rare talent for creating several completely different songs from a single instrumental beat, something he said he had not witnessed in other artists.
Adekunle Gold explained that Simi often writes multiple versions of songs before deciding on the final release. He cited her hit song “Duduke” as an example, revealing that she created about three separate versions before settling on the released track.
The singer said Simi’s consistency, originality and songwriting depth make her stand out among her peers in the Nigerian music industry today.
