Afrobeats superstar Davido has addressed reports of tension during his custody dispute over his daughter, Imade, clarifying that he never sought full custody.
The singer took to social media to dismiss circulating claims, stating he only requested joint custody and that “nobody won, nobody lost but Imade.”
Davido revealed that a court confrontation escalated after opposing counsel referenced his late son, Ifeanyi, a mention he described as “the lowest blow,” which caused an emotional reaction.
He further accused the lawyer of misconduct, saying he felt disrespected during proceedings.
Despite the controversy, Davido has decided to withdraw the custody case entirely, emphasising that his primary concern is his daughter’s well-being.
“My daughter will grow up knowing I fought for her… let’s move on. One love!” he said.
Fans have expressed support, while others urge privacy and focus on Imade’s welfare. No statement has yet come from the opposing legal team.
