“Nobody Has Time To Pity A Man” — Yul Edochie Sparks Debate On Men’s Emotions

Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has stirred reactions online after sharing his views on how society responds to men facing emotional struggles.

Speaking during an appearance on the Honest Bunch Podcast by Glitch Africa Studios, Edochie said men are often expected to endure pain silently and continue moving forward regardless of their personal battles.

According to him, society shows more sympathy toward women and children, while men are rarely given emotional support during difficult moments.

The actor also criticised emotional displays by men, referencing a recent podcast guest who became emotional during an interview.

Edochie argued that men should remain strong despite challenges and described suicide among men as a sign of weakness.

He said, “Pity doesn’t work for men. Nobody has time to pity a man. Anything that happens to a man, you need to stand up and keep moving.”

His comments have since generated mixed reactions across social media platforms.
