“No Child Should Be Taken From the Classroom” — Tinubu Mourns Beheaded Oyo Teacher, Vows Safe Return of Abducted Pupils

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the killing of an abducted teacher in Oyo State and renewed his commitment to securing the release of pupils and teachers kidnapped in Oriire Local Government Area.

In a statement issued on Monday, the President sympathised with families affected by the attack on Esiele and Yawota communities, describing the incident as a painful tragedy that has shaken the nation.

Tinubu said no child should be taken from the safety of a classroom and assured parents that the government would continue efforts to rescue those still in captivity.

The President also mourned the death of teacher Michael Oyedokun, who was reportedly killed by his captors, and extended condolences to his family.

He announced the deployment of a specialised rescue unit and the mobilisation of 1,000 forest guards in collaboration with the Oyo State Government.

Tinubu added that intelligence-led operations would continue while plans for a military base in the affected area receive urgent consideration.
