Nigerian Lawyer Appeals to Public to Stop Spiritual Attacks on Legal Practitioners

A Nigerian lawyer has made an urgent plea to the public, asking them to stop targeting attorneys with spiritual attacks over cases they are handling in court.

In a video circulating online, the barrister explained that lawyers are professionals who act on instructions from clients and are simply fulfilling their duties.

He emphasised that any anger or grievances should be directed at the opposing party involved in a legal dispute, not at the lawyer representing them.

“If you have a problem with somebody and you people are in court, leave the lawyer out of it,” he said.

“Attack the person that you are having problems with in court. He is the one paying the lawyer. If he is not paying the lawyer, the lawyer will not be there.”

The lawyer highlighted that the growing trend of spiritually targeting legal practitioners is unjustified and urged people to respect the professional role of attorneys, reminding the public that lawyers provide services for remuneration and do not act on personal motives.
