Nigerian rapper Olanrewaju Ogunmefun David, popularly known as Vector, has revealed that his childhood experiences with his sisters shaped his belief that women are not inferior to men.
Speaking on a recent episode of the MENtality podcast hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, the rapper rejected the notion that women are weaker vessels, saying his upbringing taught him otherwise.
Vector disclosed that he was bullied by his sisters while growing up, describing the experience as traumatic and saying it left him with post-traumatic stress.
According to him, enduring such treatment made it impossible for him to accept stereotypes that portray women as weak or less capable.
He explained that his personal experiences continue to influence his views on gender and strength, insisting women should not be regarded as inferior. The rapper’s comments have added to ongoing conversations about gender equality, personal experiences and the impact of childhood on adult beliefs.
