Nollywood actor Jimmy Rolland has alleged that his former wife deceived him into believing she was a virgin before they got married, describing the discovery on their wedding night as one of the greatest disappointments of his life.
Speaking on the African A-List podcast, Rolland claimed he ignored several warning signs because he trusted her and was influenced by his mother-in-law despite spiritual warnings from his mother and friends.
He said they dated for four years, during which she repeatedly insisted she was a virgin and requested they abstain from intimacy until after their wedding.
According to the actor, the claim turned out to be false on their wedding night, leaving him devastated, although he chose to remain in the marriage.
Rolland further claimed the union later collapsed, resulting in the loss of contact with his two children.
He alleged that the emotional pain of being separated from them contributed to him suffering a stroke and said his mother still grieves because she has been unable to see her grandchildren.
