Mr Ibu’s Widow, Children Trade Fresh Allegations Over Family Finances

Mr Ibu’s family has become the centre of fresh controversy after his widow, StellaMaris Okafor, and some of the late Nollywood actor’s children publicly exchanged allegations over financial support and the management of his estate.

The dispute followed a viral interview in which StellaMaris appealed for assistance, revealing the family had been without electricity for two months and relied on well water after disconnection over unpaid bills.

Her daughter, Chelsea, praised her efforts to provide for the family despite their hardship.

The interview triggered reactions from individuals identifying as Mr Ibu’s children, with Valentine and Somtochukwu Okafor questioning claims that the actor left nothing behind and alleging that properties in Lagos, Enugu and Asaba, alongside donated funds from Nigerians, were not shared.

StellaMaris denied the allegations, stating the Enugu property sale helped fund Mr Ibu’s burial. She also disclosed that compassionate Nigerians recently donated ₦7.5 million following her public appeal.
