Media personality Toke Makinwa has urged women to choose partners who prioritise care, understanding and emotional maturity, advising them to marry men who check on them after disagreements instead of leaving them to deal with their pain alone.
In a message shared on her Instagram Story, Makinwa said women should build a future with men who remain present when relationships become difficult and seek to understand rather than win arguments.
She added that a man who can pause during conflict, offer comfort and sincerely apologise because he values the relationship above his ego is worth committing to.
Her comments add to recent conversations on relationships involving several Nigerian celebrities.
