Veteran Nollywood actor Emeka Ike has urged women not to lose faith in love and marriage, insisting that relationships are not scams but become problematic when they are driven by selfish or financial motives.
Speaking during an interview with BBC News Pidgin, the actor said genuine love remains the foundation of every successful relationship and warned against treating partners as meal tickets.
He criticised women who pursue wealthy men mainly for financial benefits while pretending to be in love, stressing that sincerity is essential for lasting relationships.
Emeka also advised women not to allow social media narratives to shape their expectations of marriage, noting that every relationship is unique and should be built on understanding, support and mutual problem-solving.
He further urged ladies to avoid taking advice from people whose marriages have failed, saying such opinions should not be allowed to influence healthy relationships or create unnecessary conflict at home.
