Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi and Maduka Okoye have been named among Nigeria’s top football stars of the 2025/26 season following impressive campaigns across Europe.
The selection highlights the outstanding performances of Nigerian players who excelled for their clubs in domestic leagues and continental competitions.
Osimhen retained his place as Nigeria’s leading striker after another productive season with Galatasaray, while Lookman continued his fine form in spells with Atalanta and Atletico Madrid.
Iwobi earned recognition for his consistency in Fulham’s midfield, while goalkeeper Okoye stood out with 10 clean sheets for Udinese in Serie A.
Defenders Calvin Bassey, Zaidu Sanusi, Chibuike Nwaiwu and Ryan Alebiosu were also included after strong performances for their respective clubs.
Wilfred Ndidi anchored the midfield alongside Iwobi, while Akor Adams and Paul Onuachu joined Osimhen and Lookman among the attacking selections.
Several other Nigerian stars received honourable mentions, reflecting the growing impact of the country’s football talent across Europe’s top leagues.
